Credit management and debt collection consultancy, My Debt Recovery, has become the latest leading professional services business to join Escalate, the ground-breaking commercial dispute resolution process for SMEs.

Escalate helps SMEs to achieve a prompt settlement to a wide range of commercial disputes, with fixed fees payable only on a successful outcome and no upfront costs. The Escalate process was recognised as ‘Innovation of the Year’ at the prestigious British Accountancy Awards in 2017, was highly commended in the Legal Week Innovation Awards 2018 and has also recently been shortlisted in The Lawyer Awards 2018.

The addition of My Debt Recovery extends the scope of Escalate to lower-value disputes and bad debts that SMEs may have. It means that clients can use the Escalate process to resolve cash flow issues of all sizes.

Chris Clay, Managing Director of Escalate, said: “Escalate was created because the traditional dispute resolution model is broken and SMEs aren’t getting access to justice – too many disputes get written off because businesses don’t have the time, money or confidence to pursue a case.

“Escalate is changing that by tilting the odds back in the favour of the claimant and partnering with My Debt Recovery marks another major step forward for us. We’re now able to tackle bad debts and disputes of all sizes – from straightforward issues involving a few thousand pounds all the way through to complex multi-million pound cases.

“We’re already helping SMEs to recover more than £18 million that is currently locked up in commercial disputes and, through our partnership with My Debt Recovery, we’re now able to help an even larger number of businesses.”

Sean Husband, Director My Debt Recovery, said: “Escalate’s proven award-winning process and My Debt Recovery’s expertise makes for a powerful combination. Whatever the size of your commercial dispute, we are ideally positioned to get your money back and boost your cashflow.

“By removing financial risk, providing transparency on process and pricing, and ensuring that the claimant remains the main beneficiary on settlement, we’re challenging the traditional dispute resolution process and giving SMEs access to justice.”
