An independent business owner (the “Claimant”) was employed as a consultant for a large multinational corporation (the “Defendant”) in order to overhaul its HR Department and internal processes.

Despite having agreed to a fee structure and having done the work to a good standard, the Defendant withheld payment and stated that the claimant had not done the job correctly. 

At this stage, the Claimant sought legal advice to resolve the matter but was unable to do so, even through using lawyers on the traditional fee paying model.

How Escalate Resolved – Services Used

Escalate agreed to fund the claim against the Company and was able to make a full recovery of the unpaid fees, plus interest and costs, within 3 months of being instructed. A settlement was agreed at £125,000 which allowed the Claimant to be paid more than the original invoice total.
